For my first post I wanted to write a little more about why we decided to open up a dog day care, our vision, and our goals for Ketty’s K9s. Below are some answers to questions I know you’re dying to ask!
Why the name Ketty’s K9s?
Well— I love alliteration! I was named after my grandmother, Enriqueta. They called her Doña Quetty for short. My father decided to spell it like Betty, but with a K, so that people wouldn’t have a hard time pronouncing my name.
What experience do you have?
Both Joey and I grew up with dogs. We can’t imagine our lives without our dogs. We have experience with dogs of all ages as well, from puppies dealing with potty training to administering medicine to senior dogs. We also have experience with dogs with health issues like seizures and allergies. We’re pretty well-versed in the dog world!
Why dog day care and boarding?
We first started doing this out of our home for some extra income on the side. But then we quickly realized there was a need for dog day care and boarding where the dog isn’t in a crate half the time they are there. Yes, we have crates if your dog wants them, but we don’t force it upon them. Some go in willingly for their nap during the day while others prefer to nap on our couches. As we tell our doggies, mi casa es su casa! We also cap ourselves at a daily limit because we don’t want to overwhelm ourselves! We want to be sure to have a watchful eye on your furbaby!
Why open a business during the pandemic?
Why not? Even though we’re in a pandemic, your dog still needs socialization! Both Joey and I practice all city and state guidelines to ensure you are safe during dog transfer!
